EN 374 is the European safety regulation that determines the chemical resistance of garments and gloves. The ratings seen below are determined by exposing the fabric to various amounts of each chemical to assess the level damage done to the fibres. 

EN 374-1 is a European regulation governing the sale of chemical resistant garments. It uses a series of tests to award a glove a rating based on the penetration, degradation and permeation resistance of the garment.

The EN 388 cut resistance test uses a single sharp implement to repeatedly pressure a glove in order to determine the amount of force required to cause visible and functional damage.
