EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves’ performance when used for protection against mechanical machinery by measuring the fabric’s abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.

The EN 388 cut resistance test uses a single sharp implement to repeatedly pressure a glove in order to determine the amount of force required to cause visible and functional damage.

This means the fabric is bolstered and strengthened and that you don’t have to worry about degradation and fraying if you work handling textured and abrasive material.

What’s So Special About Polyurethane?

Polyurethane is an incredibly flexible and lightweight coating that preserves dexterity and accuracy in the fingers. A heavier glove does not allow a high degree of finger movement, thus reducing the users ability to perform precise and dexterous tasks when wearing it. Polyurethane has a lightweight feel to it that moulds the glove to the natural contour of your hand, providing what is routinely referred to as a “skin tight” fit.
