EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves’ performance when used for protection against mechanical machinery by measuring the fabric’s abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.

The EN 388 cut resistance test uses a single sharp implement to repeatedly pressure a glove in order to determine the amount of force required to cause visible and functional damage.

LEVEL F CUT RESISTANCE

Level F cut resistance is what prevents a blade, knife, machine part or jagged piece of sheet metal slicing straight through your hand. To receive a Level F rating (which few gloves do), a garment must prove it’s resistance to an excess of an incredible 30 newtons of downward pressure applied by a sharp implement.

HexArmor 5039 Level F Gloves let the user to handle objects heated to this temperature for up to fifteen seconds, allowing for the safe transfer, removal or disposal of incredible dangerous material.
